I’m really impatient to read the next one. Their actions made sense, their mistakes made sense and the love that eventually grew made sense regardless of the whole “destined” for each other part. There was nothing too dramatic about it as we sometimes find. I loved the main characters and their thought process if that makes sense. (Khal Drogo really did a number on me lol) Even more than the first one.įirstly because I'm a sucker for a good barbarian type of romance book. It just didn't appeal to my personal tastes. She could have introduced new characters and their stories a little better and a lot less intrusive. I found myself scratching my head and wondering why the author just won't continue the story of the female protagonist but instead starts a new story about the protagonist's mother in the next paragraph. The way the author built the stories for each of the character was just disjointed. I also didn't like the writing style for this book even in the very beginning. I just didn't connect with any of them and therefore made me very uninterested and unattached to the book. I didn't find any of the characters appealing or interesting enough to follow their stories. It was just really sad that I found this book boring and insignificant. I didn't want to just abandon it as I've never ever abandoned a book before so I skimmed it all the way to the end. I started skimming through this book towards the middle of the book when I realized it was not getting any better. I don't often dislike books but this one I truly had a difficult time completing. He has likened his character to an "axe-murderer" and has also claimed that he felt the books were "not meant to be published." Robert Pattinson has not been shy about sharing his dislike for the Twilight movies, which are currently available on Netflix, and has said he took his "dignity" back when the final film, Breaking Dawn: Part 2, was released in 2012. So, given the book has become such a success, the question remains: Will it be adapted into a movie? Would Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson return to their roles as Bella and Edward? However, in May 2020 she finally revealed that her book would be released in August of the same year, with sales going through the roof and more than 1 million copies being sold in its first week of publication. James' retelling of Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian Grey's point-of-view, led her to hold off on writing Midnight Sun. It also gets her into an equal amount of problems that mostly get solved with stabbing by her magic sword man, who comes from the same family of characters as Sam Vimes and Geralt of Rivia. This works on guards, bandits, murderers, enchanted swords, priests, and lawyers. Our penniless bimbo, who comes from the same family of characters as Arthur Dent and George of the Jungle, has learned to survive mostly by acting dumb and talking at her problems till they go away. In trying to kill herself with the only thing available – a rusty old sword that had been hanging over the fireplace in her tiny bedroom for decades, she accidentally releases a man who is either is a sword or lives in the sword (this is a semantic distinction no real answer is given to but much time is spent contemplating) and is sworn to protect the wielder. The scheme is mostly comprised of (1) lock her in a room, (2) marry her to her late husband’s clammy handed brother, (3) profit. The family naturally descends on her and immediately begins scheming how to get it back. Plot: A penniless widow has inherited all the money and assets of her late husband’s great-uncle, who she’d been caring for since her husband died. I think most of you have already left to go order this book, but I guess I’ll still go through the motions. Imagine if Terry Pratchett’s writing and Douglas Adams’ writing had a baby and you basically have T. “May we sit a moment?” She nodded but had gone too shy even to meet his eyes. “I truly am poor company at such times and usually before such times, as well.” “You are poor company for people who expect you to play on without missing a note, perhaps,” Val replied, holding her gaze. I’ll cuddle you up and bring you tisanes and rub your back and your feet. “So you become unfit company? Do you have the megrims and cramps and melancholy? Eat chocolates by the tin? Take to your bed?” “Sometimes.” Ellen peered at him, her expression guarded. “My courses are due.” Val cocked his head. She must have sensed his bewilderment, because she turned away and spoke to him from over her shoulder. “I will not force myself on you, I just want… I want to see you.” To make sure she was all right, whatever that meant in the odd, new context in which he was trying to define the term. “Just be honest.” “My… tonight might not be a good time.” “Sweetheart…” Val let her go and turned her to face him. “Talk to me, Ellen.” He kissed her cheek. “I will come back after dark,” he whispered, “if you’ll allow it.” She went still, and he knew a moment’s panic. “Before she could don her wide-brimmed hat and leave the sanctuary of their willow bower, Val did wrap his arms around her again, this time positioning his body behind hers. |
